How our sizes work
Every size on this site is a waist measurement in inches. A 32 is a 32-inch waist, and the range runs from 28 through 42 in even steps. A small number of track pant styles are sold in combined sizes such as 30-32 and 34-36, which stretch to cover both waists in that pair.
Waist sizes we stock

| 34 | 34 in | Keep the tape horizontal all the way round; a tape that dips at the back reads large. |
| 36 | 36 in | If you wear your trousers below the waist, measure where you actually sit them rather than at the navel. |
| 38 | 38 in | Take the reading twice and use the larger of the two if they differ. |
| 40 | 40 in | A tape measure gives a truer reading than a belt hole, which stretches over time. |
| 42 | 42 in | Measure yourself rather than an old pair of trousers, which will have relaxed with wear. |
If you are between sizes
Size up. Almost everything in this catalogue is cut baggy, barrel or relaxed, and those fits are designed to sit away from the leg — going up a size keeps that line rather than tightening it. On a regular or straight fit, size up only if you prefer to wear your trousers on the hip rather than the waist.
Fit names and what they mean on the leg
The waist size sets the waistband; the fit name sets everything below it. Baggy is wide from hip to hem. Barrel is wide through the thigh and drawn back in below the knee. Relaxed and oversized give room without the full baggy volume. Regular and straight fall in a clean line from knee to hem. Tapered and slim narrow toward the ankle. Bootcut opens out below the knee, and wide leg stays open the whole way down. Two pairs in the same waist size will wear very differently across those fits, so read the fit on the product page before you choose.
